Living in Walpole

Walpole is a small Connecticut River Valley town in Cheshire County known for its well-preserved village green, ringed by Federal and Greek Revival architecture. The town's rural character and river valley farmland have changed little over the decades, giving it a postcard New England appearance. Local agriculture supports a strong food and cider-making scene, including a well-known creamery and several area orchards. The town center includes a general store and library that anchor much of the community's civic life, supplemented by an active roster of volunteer organizations. Walpole remains very rural, with minimal public services and a nearest hospital more than 20 minutes away.
